Human Rights

Ethics & Sustainability

At Kager International Group, we place the highest priority on respecting and promoting human rights across all our activities. Our commitment is to treat everyone fairly, with respect and dignity, while adhering to all internationally recognized human rights standards. We understand that our operations can both positively and adversely impact human rights conditions in the areas where we operate, and we are dedicated to identifying, assessing, and improving any adverse impacts.

Since 2018, we have been working diligently to implement the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, making significant strides in strengthening our processes with the assistance of our partner, twentyfifty.

Our Commitment

Human rights are now deeply embedded in our Code of Conduct, training programs, vetting procedures, Know Your Counterparts (KYC) protocols, and contracting processes. We are committed to continuously identifying, assessing, and addressing adverse impacts at various levels of control within our assets and supply chain.

2024 Objectives

Our 2024 objectives are focused on furthering our commitment to human rights through several targeted initiatives:

  1. Assessment of Joint Ventures: We aim to continue our comprehensive assessment of our joint ventures, with a goal of covering at least three joint ventures in 2023.
  2. Mitigation of Child Labour Risks: Following a dedicated assessment of child labor risks, we will implement specific mitigation measures to ensure the protection of children in our operations and supply chain.
  3. Human Rights Impact Assessment on Shipping: We will carry out a detailed human rights impact assessment on our shipping time chartering activity to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  4. Development of Human Rights Assessment Methodology for Suppliers: We are developing a cartography and methodology to assess human rights practices among our suppliers, ensuring they align with our high standards.

Moving Forward

Kager International Group continues to make steady progress in our human rights initiatives and remains on track with our defined plans. Our commitment to ethical practices and sustainability is unwavering, and we strive to lead by example in the commodities and energy trading sector.
