Health & Safety at Kager International Group

Health & Safety

At Kager International Group, we believe that the effective management of health, safety, the environment, human rights, and community engagement (collectively called “HSEC”) is fundamental to the sustainable and responsible growth of our business. As a commodities and energy trading facilitation and consultancy company, we assign the highest priority to preserving the health, well-being, human rights, and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities where we operate, while also respecting and protecting the environment.

Achievements and Goals

In 2022, we met our personal health and safety objectives and continued our efforts to reduce the number and severity of process safety incidents. Our commitment to achieving zero incidents is unwavering. All incidents are thoroughly investigated, and lessons learned are communicated across our organization to prevent future occurrences.

Product Safety

Many of the products we facilitate in trading, particularly fuels, are highly flammable and pose various hazards. To ensure the proper handling of these products, we provide our clients with detailed Safety Data Sheets (SDS). These documents outline the hazards, precautionary measures, and risk management strategies associated with each product. Our SDS comply with the globally harmonized system of the United Nations and adhere to local regulations such as the REACH regulation in Europe and the Hazard Communication Standard in the US.

In regions like the European Union, products can only be marketed if a registration dossier, containing scientific information on the hazards to human health, safety, and the environment, has been submitted. This information forms the basis of the risk management measures communicated in our safety data sheets. Our comprehensive library of SDS includes hundreds of items for various products, ensuring compliance and safety in the most critical economic areas.

Process Safety

Process safety is a critical aspect of our HSEC governance and procedures. It involves managing low probability incidents that could have significant consequences on people, the environment, assets, and our reputation. We monitor our performance by recording all process safety events (incidents and near misses) according to categories established by the American Petroleum Institute (Tiers 1, 2, and 3).

  • Tier 1: events are defined as unplanned releases of material above certain volumes or with severe consequences.
  • Tier 2: events involve releases with lower quantities or consequences.
  • Tier 3 are near misses that could have led to a Tier 1 or 2 event under different circumstances.

We take all events seriously, regardless of their tier, and prioritize the health, well-being, human rights, and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve.

Commitment to Continuous Improvement

Kager International Group is dedicated to continuously improving our health and safety standards. We manage compliance through robust procedures, comprehensive training modules, and regular auditing. Our commitment ensures that we remain at the forefront of health and safety in the commodities and energy trading industry, striving to create a safer and more sustainable future for all stakeholders.
